Avid has quietly announced that Digidesign as you know it is history. Digidesign, the creator of Pro Tools, is getting absorbed into the Avid brand.
Based on what we’ve heard from Avid, it sounds like you’ll be seeing Avid Pro Tools from now on.

that's fucking bonkers.
gonna love seeing how this changes folder hierarchy for plug-ins and such next time a pro tools update comes around.
and that logo is fucking gross.
and now i have "digidesign" embossed into my hardware for reason.
you know what would really make up for this? some fucking 64-bit compatibility.
sorry about the fuck-bombs.

No fucking problem.
They must be saving some insane dollars by cutting reducing their number of brands or something.
they can start openup their m-powered and other disadvanced software so that more people will be able use them. if they dont, well then, they can stay where they are. Ableton, Logic, Cubase, Reaper, etc will progress to rule then.
Avid has owned digi design for years.
The update for windows 7 64 bit came out 7 months late and is NOT worth the effort
My computer is a prison – pro tools is the warden – & my music is getting fucked in the ass
