Amos Gaynes of Moog Music made this video for DJ Rap (Charissa Saverio), demonstrating using the Moog Etherwave Plus theremin as a live controller for the Little Phatty Stage II synthesizer.
In the video, Gaynes demonstrates a variety of ways the theremin can be used as a performance controller for dance music.
We’re sort of hoping that Saverio will film a response video……
We don't need a $500 etherwave to do this kind of controlling…it's more easy and cheaper to do it with a midi knob box…its not that fancy though…
Sometimes Moog reminds me of Apple…stuff that does work good, but its very basic, costs too much and depends on the "buzz" around its name…
Alex – there are some perfectly good knobs on the synth itself that will do the same things. 🙂 The point of the video was to show how you can jazz up your stage show using the theremin as a hands-free controller, precisely because it looks fancy. That's all…
Try playing pitches on a MIDI knob, though. Something actually harder to do than playing the theremin.
