Moog Music has introduced a new Website focusing on the Moog Taurus 3 bass synthesizer, TaurusBass.com.

The microsite is intended as a gathering place for owners and future owners of the Moog Taurus 3, and features videos about the work that went into creating the bass synth, audio samples, a forum and more.

  1. Sheesh. It's only as matter of time before this unit has a platinum album, presents an Emmy to J-Lo and announces its engagement to Katie Price.

Then it will be the inevitable spiral into drink, drugs, extramarital sex and golf, and ending its days on e-Bay.

  2. They're putting a lot of work into something they're only making 1000 of. In some ways that speaks to their investment. On the other side each time I read about the Taurus 3 it's hard for me to care, because I know it's very unlikely I'll ever get to see one.

  6. the site is a dinky little thing. psh "microsite". I got the privelage to go to namm this year and got to check it out. also to check out peoples somewhat disappointed reactions like they came to see god and got, well just another synth.

  7. I think Moog missed out on a tremendous opportunity with the Taurus 3. One of the most desirable sounds from a foot bass pedal is a smooth, deep, thick, "non-LFO" sound such as what Chris Squire gets with his bass pedals that utilize sampled sounds. If Moog would have included that type of voicing as one of the sounds achievable with the Taurus 3 (whether or not as a preset), they would have had an incredible winner on their hands. But instead, they just churned out another boring synth. They should have done their homework first to find out what musicians really want instead of what Moog staffers want.
