Mixtikl Generative Music App Coming To The iPad

intermorphic-mixtikl2-generative-music-mixer-dvdIntermorphic has announced that it will be submitting Mixtikl 2 for iPad to iTunes App Store in the next couple of days:

Although we don’t yet have iPads 🙂 , we expect that the larger iPad UI will make for a lot of fun for generative music and loop mixing, especially as Mixtikl has 12 tracks to play with.

We will be continuing to improve Mixtikl for iPhone/iPod and iPad in the coming months, and our next release will include landscape mode for iPhone/iPod touch (why not, as we have to do it for iPad!), and improved content selection and control.

On a separate note, we were saddened to note that Windows Phone 7 will not be supporting native apps, which means that unless anything changes there, we will be saying goodbye to Windows Mobile – simply as an app with Mixtikl’s audio power has to be native (C# just does not cut it, either). That Windows Phone 7 won’t be supporting copy and paste was another blow, but just a minor supporting factor. We guess we might well look at MeeGo instead, and maybe even revisit Symbian. Of course there is also Android, but the lack of app protection and platform fragmentation are both serious issues there.
