Here’s a collection of high-resolution shots of the new Novation UltraNova, a ‘Nova’ series analogue-modelling synthesizer with a powerful built-in effects processor.
The Novation UltraNova is a single-part synth, taking the Supernova II synth engine as a starting point and packing it with the latest technology. It also has new features. including wavetable synthesis, more powerful filters, a software editor and a new touch-sense performance mode.
The Novation UltraNova will list for $850 and retail closer to $700.
I am really interested in this, but I dont see any indication it can do audio rate Oscillator FM. That is a big shame.
I still want to know why this is better then the X-Station. Besides the vocoder.
Too expensive.
Amazing when a $700 polyphonic keyboard is now 'too expensive", isn't it?
yup. besides the possible no-FM here, people are a little spoiled by the likes of miniAks and micro-yaks! this, at least, is a novation and has PPGness for way under a grand. I think I'm in if just for the novation silky-digital VA sound of the older boards.
looks like fun… but only 1 midi part…? I'll stick to my supernova rack…
I don't think we will find a new sound from novation.. I think this is just old synth engine from previous series from X-station and K series. Novation just giving a new interface like that sensitive touch.
