Roland has announced a contest for Roland guitar synth players – the Roland Guitar Synth Challenge:
We want to recognize and reward the many thousands of forward-thinking musicians who have gone beyond the ordinary and gotten into guitar synthesis. All you have to do to enter our challenge is to post a video of you playing your Roland guitar synth on YouTube.
We’ll pick our favorites and award thousands of dollars of Roland and BOSS gear to the top three contestants. We’re looking for creativity, originality, and WOW factor, so give it all you’ve got. The Challenge starts on October 1, 2010, and runs through December 31, 2010, so don’t wait.
List of Prizes:
- Grand Prize: $3000 of Roland and BOSS gear (your choice)
- 2nd Place Prize: $2000 of Roland and BOSS gear (your choice)
- 3rd Place Prize: $1000 of Roland and BOSS gear (your choice)
How to Enter:

- Fill out the entry form at the Challenge site.
Could be a reason for me to get around to actually composing something with my GR-30, rather than just making free-form scat noises with my guitar and giggling. I bet the competition is only open to US people though.
GR-20 sorry. shows how often i use it.
