The Delia Derbyshire arrangement of Ron Grainer’s Doctor Who theme is an electronic music classic.

The 1978 disco arrangement by MANKIND, produced by Don Gallacher and arranged by Mark Stevens, not so much.

The late 1970’s period was very strong and competitive for music as record sales of the whole top forty were massive back then compared to today and although this only managed number 25 on the UK charts it still sold a fair few copies and hung around for 12 weeks and was aired on the show two or three times. This particular clip is from 31st December 1978.
