Sunday Synth Jam: John Cage playing amplified cacti and plant materials with a feather, on video artist Nam June Paik‘s 1984 TV special, Good Morning, Mr. Orwell.
Good Morning, Mr. Orwell was the first international satellite “installation” by Paik. It occurred on New Year’s Day, 1984.
Just when you think you’ve moved beyond the initial absurdity of John Cage playing the amplified cacti with a feather – George Plimpton appears and floats around the screen, with Python-esque erudite commentary.
