GrainBender is a new iPad synthesizer that is ‘capable of making a wide range of sounds, from traditional analog favorites to exotic digital effects.’
Features:
- intuitive sound design interface
- versatile oscillators with analog & digital waveforms
- audio clip recording and export to other apps via AudioCopy
- extensive but easy-to-use modulation
- effects ranging from chorus and delay to digital grunge
No mention of MIDI support for Grainbender at this time. It’s available for $4.99 in the App Store.
Audio demos below.
Why is this called Grainbender?
Is there any element of granular synthesis? To me this looks like a subtractive synth. The name is kind of misleading.
When can we expect rain-ender in the eb-store?
ugly fucker.
Now that's a comment straight from the heart.
audio demos neat, no rant 😀
it was the first thing i thought when i saw it. i will probably try it though, because the demos sound good.
There seems to be no standards of interfacing and file exchanges with iPad music apps. The traditional standards seem to be ignored. Maybe this is growing pains for apps and the iPad . Hopefully over time, the programers for these apps will implement the standards. Meanwhile, I won’t purchase an app that doesn’t support MIDI.
