Cableguys have released MidiShaper – modulation effect plug-in for Windows and Mac that lets you add powerful LFOs and envelopes to synthesizers and effects.
Four LFOs and four envelope generators work together in a sophisticated modulations matrix that can be set up to output modulated pitch, modwheel, channel aftertouch or any MIDI control messages.
MidiShaper’s LFOs can run infinitely or be retriggered, synced to your host sequencer from a buzzy 1/128 to an expansive 32 bars, set to the played note, or run from 0.02 Hz up to the audible range and brain frequency. MidiShaper features completely editable waveforms for its LFOs.
MidiShaper for Windows and Mac (VST) is available for 10 EUR / $15 USD (through Aug 23, 2011 – regularly 20 EUR / $30 USD).
I'm thinking this would be really cool to drive my K2000S
Nice. I use the Auto LFO app that ships with Cubase to accomplish similar results but this is way way deeper. Definitely on my list.
What about Steve Duda's LFOTool? This is $15 cheaper until the discount is gone but still…
This is awesome, played with the beta loads. Brings whole new life to some of my hardware.
Loved them in Curve, now I’m exited to have these super flexible lfo’s and envelopes now available to drive my other plugins as well.
Just saw that there is some wrong info in the post.. MidiShaper is actually not available for AU; this is because AU does not allow MIDI output. If there is much demand we could support it by outputting MIDI to an extra virtual MIDI port, but at this point there's no AU support.
Thanks for the feedback!
MidiShaper features 4 LFOs and envelopes, easy drawing of waveforms, but I guess in the end it's a matter of preferences.
I'd say give it a try. We have fully-functional demo versions for all our plugins, without time-limit, on this page (and you can download the free PanCake, too): http://www.cableguys.de/downloads.html
