TASCAM has introduced the iXZ Interface – a pocket sized Mic/Instrument input for mobile music making.
The iXZ supplies phantom power for condenser microphones and input setting sets the gain. There is also a headphone output to monitor from your iOS device.

Yeah, i got the jam, it never worked either with ipad2 or with iphone 4, with ios 5. Headphone audio might be a little crappy, but its better than no audio….
