I remember when this song was everywhere, you couldn’t get away from it.
Years later, when I was in High school, the drum ensemble I was in did this, myself on bass guitar/quads.

The real importance of this song was that it featured a DJ/Turntablist as a musician that could be part of a Band.
Grandmixer DXT (formerly DST) opened the door for future turntablists like Qbert, DJ shadow, and Mix Master Mike.
Look everyone, specially YOU youngsters. Hardware, genuine, real hardware. No Apple apps, iPhones, iPads or any other apps – just pure hardware. They were the days.
