What is it with Moog and these emo bands? Are they going of the “hey, if you can only manage to press down two or three keys at a time you can still play a Moog” demographic?
xtopher – maybe old proggers and jazz fusion players aren’t a great demographic these days?
Yah, I get that, but geez. There are tons of players out there in every style to draw from. Moog is taking a serious left turn into establishing itself as a brand rather than an instrument maker. That means the quality is no longer an issue, and so bands like this, who could be using anything since it’s so minimal, are fine to use as promotion. Reminds me of Bose, who used to make great speakers but are now some of the worst available yet still carry the premium price. The current strategy at Moog is taking them squarely into this space.
well at least, if they’re not making any good use of all their nifty equipment the singer has a nice voice…
