Lowertone has released a free Mac filtering app, Freeq.
Freeq is spectral filtering app, designed for easy and fast frequency manipulations. You can cut and manipulate single frequencies, transforming sounds however you like.
Freeq was originally made for steinbrüchel, and in time turned into very interesting and easy to use tool. It was further tested by Stephan Mathieu:
For sound design purposes i just use very few tools, but Freeq has become an important program in my working environment. The interface design works well and the possibilities for frequency manipulations are fantastic. Many thanks to lowertone for developing this programm. I simply love working with it!

I’m currently working on a sound design for an App by a friend, using reworks of reworks I made from his music. Freeq, given to me for a test ride by Lowertone came in as a powerful, yet easy to use tool to come to grips with breaking out frequencies. While the software I’m using is set at less than a handful applications for one decade now, Freeq is a welcome addition.

Freeq is free download.
