If you were already salivating over – or frustrated by the wait for – AudioBus, an update from the developers today may not change much:
Today we’ve sent out the very likely final iteration of the software development kit (SDK) to the developers of the first apps that will be Audiobus compatible. In the 6 weeks since Apple approved Audiobus, we’ve worked with many different development teams. Bugs have been fixed, changes in the SDK have been made to accommodate the best suggestions. Beta versions have been tested, lots of conversations been had about user interface design.
Launch dates have been suggested and discussed. Truth is, initially we thought Audiobus would be there in May or June. From postponing launch by a few months, to a few weeks, we’re now postponing it by days. Which means you, dear reader, are getting real close to holding Audiobus in your hands.
Close, but……
Get the full update at the AudioBus site. See our post What Is Audiobus & How Will It Change Mobile Music Making? for background on the upcoming technology.
I’m glad they’re really working through this. I’m so sick f half baked apps with great potential. This will fundamentally change iOS music, and make it a much more viable platform.
Yes please, thank you!
Right on time too! Just ordering the new ipad right now….
AudioBus it as the crutch for lame – to move it is possible, but very slowly! I shall not buy.
Babelfish?
Well, actually crutch is an example of something that does its job just fine. If that was the point of comparing, I am glad if Audiobus is as well-thought a thing as a crutch. Or was your awkward phrasing an attempt of saying that Audiobus too would change peoples’ lives for the better? Yes, that’s too what we are expecting. 😉
Bollox – audiobus is the precursor to what is inevitably be common place : pro plug ins on a pro ipad – when that happens I will gladly trade in my MacBook indefinitely
Stop chatting bubbles
Keep it up. And Thant you.
At last. It’s a bit like Christmas. All this wait and anticipation. They really are working hard to make sure it works when they release it. Feels comforting. And yes, this app is going to change the iOS music landscape forever. It’s the dawn of a new era. So glad to be able to be a part of it. 🙂
