TE knob heads!
John…we got to remind the wealthy nerds about our product.
Let’s advertise 3D printed knobs…..errrr..funny knobs…errr…funny 3d printed knobs
WTF, I sure as hell don’t want those creepy heads on my OP-1 knobs. How about Ironman, Captain America and Batman or Akira, Tetsuo and Kaneda? Or beer taps?
cool ideas. actually fun gimmick. not that i´d pay for something like that.
As soon as I saw this I thought it would be cool to have Kraftwerk heads
Devo (in classic Devo hats!) would be cool as well. 🙂
Both of those ideas are awesome. ^^
How about teenage engineering make some OS UPDATES for the OP-1 or actually follow through on their big talk. Dumb heads and stupid speakers. Yup, TE, so over.
could you please outline some of the current os lacks/flaws so the people are more informed?
What’s their ‘big talk’ that you want them to follow through on?
Everybody I know that has an OP-1 likes it.
Hmm…OP Lab is basically a paperweight….also they promised there would be updates to the engines that have never appeared….noise issues, etc, etc.
There have been many updates but also some new bugs. But the OP-1 is worth it’s price. A small enterprise cannot offer cheap mass production prices like yamaha. Buy a used one to get it cheaper.
Who said anything about price? I own an OP-1, think its great, just wish TE were on their ball more when it comes to, well, a lot of things.
not really what i was thinking of in terms of info.
Troll alert!
TE has released updates that added some major features in the last year.
This 3D printing thing actually is a very cool trend.
Some people will trick out their gear, while a lot of us will just be glad to be able to get affordable parts!’
I think i’m gonna sell my op-1. I love and appreciate the design, but I honestly just don’t think I like the way it sounds. $650 firm– any takers?
SUPER EXPENSIVE TOY, MORE I HEAR ABOUT THIS THING, UNFORTUNATELY ,THE MORE IT TURNS ME OFF.
IM GLAD YOU PEEPS PAY MORE ATTENTION TO MY HYPE TYPE STLYE THAN THE TOPIC AT HAND. I WOULD LOVE AN OP-1, DONT GET ME WRONG…BUT I THINK ITS OVER-PRICED FOR WHAT CAN BE DONE WITH IT. I REALIZE ITS A “JAM” OR “SKETCH TOOL”, BUT FOR THAT MUCH CASH, YOU CAN DO MUCH MORE. WHY PAY FOR GIMMICKS WHEN THE THING MALFUNCTIONS?
I HAVE LOOKED INTO BUYING THIS MANY TIMES, EVERY REVEIW IVE READ IS 50/50, TO THIS DATE. WHEN IT HAS BETTER REVIEWS, THEN MAYBE I WILL PICK ONE UP…THEN MAYBE ILL WANNA SPEND ANOTHER $300 ON KNOB RATCHETS AND COLORFUL MOLDED HEADS, C’MON, FIX THE BUGS. GET RID OF THE ACCESSORIES.
What about boobs and penis knobs? 😉 Just joking. Would not buy either one.
Leave my OP-1 alone TE or produce a serious update.
SUPER ANNOYING CAPS, THE MORE I SEE THEM, UNFORTUNATELY, THE MORE THEY LOSE THEIR IMPACT.
And the more somone is ahypocrite, the more they lose creediblity.
joke equals hipocrisry? i have much to learn.
What’s “ahypocrite”?
What’s “creediblity”?
(note to self…..get a new computer keyboard )
Synthesizers are getting the mobile phone accessory treatment? Eh, why not.
Oh, come on..
3-d printing rocks!
I think people are reacting strangely to this post…
Most of us (i think) are synthesis guys… u know… kind of nerdy… possessing a fascination with cool tech (and the possibilities!!!!).
These knobs are cool. Not because I love the aesthetics, but because I can imagine how 3-D printing will eventually usher in new ways to improve my musc and my life. C’mon, people! This is freakin cool!
I can’t wait till this tech is affordable and I can print out whatever my heart (and skill level) desires… custom (taller, larger) knobs for my NI Maschine, elegant solutions to cable management, replacement keys for my broken midi controller, custom biz cards shaped like my logo, buttons and switches for inventive DIY projects, the possibilities are amazing!!!! 🙂
3D printing is like synthesizing reality!
…I´d print dead dictators head in my 3D printer and tweak them 🙂
Soooo….I am going to release a series of custom TE knob caps in the shape of old No. 2 pencil erasure replacements. They will also actually function as actual erasures 🙂
Anyone have any interest in something like this?
scan and 3D print your own head and turn them into nobs on Cubify.com.
I”ve spent the past year looking for the proper slider caps I need for my Siel OR500. I wish I had access to a 3D printer.
SInce I don’t have access to a 3D printer and the only knobs/slider-caps I’ve found that will fit my Siel are sold in Japan but someone who can’t even answer an email.
I’m gonna attempt at making my own knobs with a molding clay like Sculpey, Premol, Craft Smart®, or Fimo to mold simple round caps to put on the Siels switches and slider pots.

New “Knob heads” for the OP-1!
Never was there a more appropriate accessory.
