Leon Dewan unleashes a wall of sound-noise with the Swarmatron at the 2013 NAMM Show.
The Swarmatron produces eight tones tuned approximately to one note, each tone slightly different in pitch to produce a complex and natural choral effect. Twin ribbon controllers let you play both the pitch and the ‘width’ of the swarm of notes.
The Swarmatron was used notably by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross in their soundtrack for The Social Network.
to quote Groucho Marx…”if you get near a tune, play it”

Leon Dewan seems to be a real original thinker and his instruments reflect this – completely different than what’s out there.
The bros. are awesome. Wish it didn’t
cost so much but we have to pay for
labor!
Hands down best video from NAMM.
