Here’s some audio examples of the new Studio Electronics Boomstar 4075 – a new synth module with an ARP 2600 style filter.
The Studio Electronics Boomstar line is a new family of analog synthesizers, each priced at $899. The four synths share a common 2-oscillator analog synth architecture. The synth is offered, though, with four different filter types:
- 4075-classic Arp 2600
- 5089-classic Moog 24db ladder
- SEM-classic Oberheim 12db
- 303-classic Roland TB.
For more information, see the Studio Electronics site.
Sounds good – the only problem is that I want all four of the Boomstar synths and I can’t afford any of them right now.
My beloved x-mod….
I wish more companies would offer a variety of filters to choose from.
…in the same synth.
this is the one im most interested in… the arp filter is the most “spacey” sounding to me of all the big name synths… it has some kind of air to it, almost chewy like a roland but not quite
finally more sound demos. the price seems to have jumped to 899 which is not very cheap.
they do sound nice though
Sounds like the noise generator is VERY good !
The ratio of synth prices to my income seems to increase exponentialy. I guess I’ll have to just sit and weep a while.
