Here’s an informal demo of the Studio Electronics Boomstar 5089, by Drew Neumann. This is the first Boomstar 5089 production unit.
The Boomstar series is a line of four new synths that share a common 2-oscillator analog synth architecture, but differ in their filter types:
- 4075-classic Arp 2600
- 5089-classic Moog 24db ladder
- SEM-classic Oberheim 12db
- 303-classic Roland TB.
The Studio Electronics Boomstar 5089 synth is priced at $899. See the SE site for details.
demo looks like a game of Twister: left hand on cutoff, right hand on noise. !o!
sounds nice- full and strong. would like to hear some non-sequenced sounds as well. bet it does some sweet leads.
Any time I see someone selling a synth where basically you can buy four essentially the same except the filter versions for $899, I’m like “nope!”. Why isn’t the filter on a removable card or as a patch device so you can buy the unit with one filter for $899, and then buy the other filters at a reasonable price?
Have a look at Ambika.
