NPR’s Q2 Music visits new music power couple, Morton Subotnick And Joan La Barbara at the couple’s Greenwich Village apartment for a look at their home studio and work spaces.
Subotnick, who turned 80 this week, is the pioneering electronic composer responsible for Silver Apples of the Moon and was instrumental in the creation of the Buchla synthesizer. La Barbara is known for her modern vocal compositions and performance, along with her performance work with the Philip Glass Ensemble.
Man, by the way he talks and looks, you sure wouldn’t think he’s 80.
