One of the new features listed for Apple’s just-announced iOS 7 is ‘Inter-App Audio‘. Many readers are wondering what Apple’s announcement means for the future of AudioBus, an independent solution for routing audio between applications.
The AudioBus creators have shared their views on the announcement and how it affects the future of AudioBus:
We’re excited about the great work the Core Audio team have done on the new functionality, which has some terrific features that only a team at Apple with system-level access could achieve. It validates the work we’ve been doing with Audiobus, and will pave the way for some great user experiences to come.
While we can’t talk specifics, as we’re bound by Apple’s Non-Disclosure Agreement, we believe Audiobus is going to continue to be a valuable member of the community, bringing music apps and devices together.
We’ve got big plans, and we look forward to sharing the results with you!
We’ll have to wait until the official release of iOS 7 for full details – but this holds the promise of both system-level audio routing and more powerful capabilities for AudioBus users.
Good to see that this development will be benefiting the Audiobus team.
They gave us a great tool to fill a void left by Apple. I hope that they reap the rewards for their awesome work!
anyone else think apple bought audiobus? possibly a native app?
Audiobus survived the first time Inter-Audio App was announced for IOS6 (which pretty much nothing came of it), they will survive the second wave of Inter-Audio Apps.
they will be part of Apple.
YES,
i wish the AudioBus Team all the best!
Now is a good time for Retronyms(impc) to ditch Tabletop and join the ride on the Audiobus
