Keith McMillen Instruments, just announced the release of QuNeo v.1.2.3, which includes a new “iPad mode” for “truly mobile music making” with its QuNeo MIDI controller.
QuNeo’s visual feedback system has been tweaked so that it can now be powered via the iPad through its Camera Connection Kit or Lightning connector. With the same design dimensions (9.5″ x 7.3″ x 0.3″), QuNeo can use the same stands, cases and other accessories made for iPad.
QuNeo v.1.2.3 also has optimized firmware with a faster scan rate that increases pad performance. Users executing drum rolls or rapid percussive techniques will notice improved responsiveness.
Pricing and Availability. QuNeo is currently available at retailers worldwide, and retails for $199.00 USD. More information is available at the Keith McMillen Instruments website.
Is this new hardware or will this work for existing QuNeos?
I just updated mine. Looks like it still gives me the too much power error if you enter CoMA mode. I’m on an iPad 4. Still works fine through my powered hub though.
Whoops, I didn’t have it in iPad Mode. Now it works fine. CoMA mode doesn’t throw the power error anymore!
I haven’t made a thing on a mobile device yet. but this looks pretty interesting. The MIDI seems decent enough for the price.
Working great with the iPad. Pad response is way better! I have just recorded an example http://youtu.be/MNheOEYoAi4
Same problem for me… How can I put the Quneo in IPad Mode?
Problem solved! 🙂
