  1. I understand this is the first of a series of effects . I hope the forthcoming effects will NOT be seperate and therefore only usable one at a time ; but IAP add ons that can run within this single AUFX shell and ideally with flexible intra routing .
Unless IOS7 makes this an unnecessary concern?

    1. As long as Apple forces sandboxing of apps on IOS, effects will also be forced to be separated one from another as one app cannot host another app. But I guess there will be many apps which will offer more than one effect to compensate for this (like Live FX)

        1. And so does Tabletop, but they are still all within the same app. IAP is not like a host, IAP is just locked content that you have to pay for to unlock. You cannot use an IAP module outside of its own app.

        2. Exactly my point ,which you seem to somehow miss whilst reinforcing !
I want the additional AUFX effects as add ons WITHIN a single shell .
I didnt mention Tabletop because its not an effect (in Audiobus ) .
I know how IAPs work ,thanks ,…

          1. What I would really love is for every AUFX effects to work with any single shell, not just the one it comes packaged with.

      1. I really think we will be blown away by inter-app audio in iOS 7. The devs who know anything about it are not talking publicly but several have said they are busy working on implementing it. To me thats enough evidence to be sure that inter-app audio is a big enough deal that when iOS 7 comes out, they want their apps to be ready to work with it.
Or to put it another way, the benefits of inter-app audio in iOS appear significant enough (to the devs) that its financially worth their time to implement it in their apps, even before iOS 7 comes out…

So, I’m hopeful. and glad my iPad 2 will just barely make the cut this next iOS upgrade =D

        1. I too can’t wait to see what inter-audio app will do in IOS7

But I can’t believe my Ipod Touch 4th Generation will not have IOS7,.. its not even 2 years old and Apple can’t support it? I’m now stuck with three unsupported devices, and none of them are over 3 years old. It costs a lot of money to keep up with Apple’s subscription scheme.

          1. I agree that the cutoff on OS support with iOS devices can be annoying, but it usually works out that a device is able to upgrade to the next two major iOS releases after the one it ships with. Apple messed things up a little when they kept the 4th gen iPod Touch around for two generations of hardware time (we should be able to purchase a 6th gen iPod Touch rather than the 5th gen model that’s currently available).

            1. The weirdest thing about this is how the 4th gen Ipod has a faster processor and more memory than the ipad2, yet Apple wasn’t able to make IOS7 work on it? I doubt it, I think its more a business decision to force users to buy a new device if they wish to keep up to date.

            1. If Android never gets updates, maybe you can explain how both my Android devices are still getting updates after 3 years, buf if you prefer spreading a false myth yeah go ahead… #cyanogenmod

    2. Actually, the whole point with the AUFX series is that they are simple and lightweight, one effect per app. There is a great single “shell” to put them in: Audiobus. If you want to process hardware input, you can put up to 3 AUFX apps in series (input/filter/output slots) and record in the last one. And the future might hold even more possibilities…
