Native Instruments has released TRAKTOR DJ cable, a compact audio splitter designed for mobile DJ setups using an iPhone, iPad or a laptop.
Following the iOS app TRAKTOR DJ, the TRAKTOR DJ cable offers a simplified solution that splits audio from TRAKTOR’s virtual decks into two outputs. When used with TRAKTOR DJ or TRAKTOR PRO 2, this allows headphone track cueing for more fluid mixing.
The TRAKTOR DJ cable connects to the output of an iOS device, where it is “instantly” recognized in TRAKTOR. Clearly marked headphone and amplifier outputs make it simple to know where to connect each cable. TRAKTOR DJ cable also works with other iOS DJ software for a compact, “road-ready” DJ setup.
Pricing and Availability. TRAKTOR DJ cable is available now at retailers worldwide, and via the Native Instruments Online Shop for $19.99 / 19.99 Euro / ¥ 2100. Additional information is available on the Native Instruments website.
is every output then mono ?
I’m wondering the same thing. Couldn’t find the answer on NI’s website. Looks like both outputs are mono. In which case you are better off getting a small class compliant audio interface.
Never cared much about the iPad, but his makes me want to buy one…
Let me get this straight. It’s not the amazing synths and instruments – like Animoog, Thor, Nave, Samplr, Thumb Jam, etc. – that made you excited about the iPad, but an audio splitting cable did?
What am I missing here?
Don’t these go for six dollars at RadioShack?
It’s a regular stereo splitter cable, these have been available since 1960, I recently got one for 2 euros.
You know if you call something other than “regular” you can charge more for it.
Hmmm… I’m not sure all the naysayers have considered all the details of this cable.
Yes, this is a stereo splitter, but does the cable at Radio Shack split into two female 3.5mm jacks, each presenting their mono signal in stereo, so it’s heard through BOTH speakers on the headphones? Yep, I didn’t think so! 🙂
