Sunday Synth Jam: This video, via deitersmonkey, features a father/son synth jam cover of Jean Michel Jarre’s Oxygene 2.
Here’s what they have to say about it:
Jamming to our Oxygene II attempts. For a bit of Father/Son fun! My son is 10 years old.
He used a Polysix for the FX and leads. Arp Omni for the strings. JX-8P set for the bridge. Whitenoise on the Poly800 with my left hand. Bass is from an old Groovebox.
This is an improvised performance, but it’s not live. (No audience.) Sorry if I’m being picky.
that was directed at the person who titled the blog; the title of the video itself is good. Great playing, btw.
I guess just an idea to my electronic kin, that we shift from saying ‘live’ to something like ‘improvised’
I think it would be more consistent with other genres that way.
Sorry though, I’m sure this has been discussed elsewhere, and this is not the place for it. I would ask the moderator to please remove my comments on the grounds of “OFF TOPIC” They are coming across as preachy, and generating negativity. Not the result I was going for.
Dude, live means you are playing music live (for real without backing tapes, etc., it does not require an audience but of course would make it nicer, but we are the audience now 😉
Sorry, not trying to be harsh. I get what you mean, too. This is something I’ve been thinking of for a while, and I wasn’t directing this towards the video linked here. I actually like this video a lot, and I think “live in my living room” is a nice name for a track.
Very cool live tune !
I think this is authentic, live and absolutely fantastic, dudes ! Hope to see , hear more of you two together, doing synth oldies or anything new. Blessings guys !
Luiz.
Awww ain’t that cute ! Great cover, great song, the only thing that annoy me is this disco ball. Apart from that awesome work !
