In this interview, disco and synth pop pioneer Giorgio Moroder talks with Jian Ghomeshi about bringing his work to a new generation, how he got over creating music ‘correctly’, and why music lovers are ready for a return to retro sound.
Moroder is one of the most influential music producers of the last 40 years. He’s worked with the likes of David Bowie and Donna Summer, shaped the soundtracks of films like Scarface, Midnight Express and Flashdance, and won several Grammys and Oscars.
And after keeping a low profile for several years, Moroder has been very active with projects that include Daft Punk’s latest record, a Google game soundtrack, and new remixes.
Great interview thanks for this.
