This year’s circuit bending contest challenged entrants to take a battery powered device and circuit bend it into an instrument capable of creating new and unique sounds, with a total budget of $70 or less. Prizes included a Moog Sub Phatty, a Moog Slim Phatty, a Moog Minitaur and passes to Moogfest 2014.
The Grand Prize winner of the Moog Circuit Bending Challenge 2014 was George Gleixner. Here’s a video demo of his circuit bent Hing Hon EK-001 squarewave keyboard:
I usually hate circuit-bending but this one is exception because it is able to produce music rather than the usual noise…well done !!
