Retronyms has updated its Tabletop virtual studio for the iPad, adding support for the Akai Pro iMPC Pro virtual instrument.
Tabletop is a ‘freemium’ modular environment where you can mix and match different devices. 14 devices are included with the app for free and additional devices are available as in-app purchases. You select from over 40 devices including samplers, mixers, effects, sequencers and more.
Tabletop is a free download from the App Store and iMPC Pro is available for a limited time for US $12.99.
Tabletop was a 607 MB download. Now iMPC Pro ready, it swells to 1 GB!
Why is there no audio input for sampling?
I really don’t know, it seems that retronyms have shot themselves in the foot so many times with this release I’d be suprised if they have any toes left..
You can actually record samples into the drum pads directly from your iTunes library using the “vinyl turntable” device thingy which i think is one of the free ones included.
Also audio paste stuff in from other apps too.
That’s great, but what about resampling devices from within tabletop??
I’d imagine seeing as tabletop has audio copy and paste that you could, audio copy whatever you did in tabletop and paste that into one or more of the drum pads within tabletop without leaving the app??
Using tabletop, can I export individual waves so I can import them into protools?
