Akai iMPC Pro and the MPC Element Controller are featured on the latest episode of Mitch Gallager’s iOS Update.
iMPC Pro is a classic music production center recreated as an iPad app. It offers most of the features of classic MPCs and adds new features that the iPad makes possible, including: touch-based sample editing, a new timeline view, Inter-App Audio and social sharing. Unfortunately, MIDI support is currently missing in action.
The MPC Element is an MPC-style MIDI controller, offering Note Repeat, Full Level, 16 Level, Tap Tempo and more.
If you’ve used iMPC Pro or the MPC Element, let us know what you think in the comments!
Element in low power mode does not sense velocity. Why not just trigger via iPad? Advantage of hardware pads is about having velocity sensed for expression. No velocity=fail.
They just announced the velocity issue will be fixed in v1.1 just released to Apple.
Hardware controllers offer much lower latency, too. Not fail!
