This video, via LtPicard, takes a look at the ARP Omni MK1 – detailing some of the challenges of the vintage keyboard’s design and demonstrating why it’s worth tackling them.

Creamy. So dreamy.
I used to be the parts manager for an electronic repair shop. We used to get various ARP products in for repair and it was impossible to get parts. the sliders on Odysseys are simply no longer made and that could be true for Omni’s also. I would not undertake any ARP restoration without knowing that all the parts that will be needed are available.
actually, there are a couple of people who offer new Arp sliders,(around $300/$400 for a full set for the oddy) As well as a kit called the Lumina that features multicolored, led lit sliders. ($400) They are finally available again. 🙂
Nice video – great to hear the string synth itself and to learn a bit about what restoration requires!
