Dieter Doepfer reinvigorated the world of modular synthesizers when he created Doepfer Musikelektronik’s relatively affordable modular synthesizer line and the Eurorack standard.
This video, via sonicstate, is an interview with Dieter Doepfer, from Musikmesse 2014. Doepfer discusses his modular system and talks about the origin of the Eurorack modular synthesizer.
Yes, thank you Dieter!
Thank you Dieter, I could never have afforded to get into modulars if it wasn’t for you.
user input has developed many Doepfer, modules
tis is a sure formula for success
ask uses what they want … then build it .
Respect for Deiter and Doepfer. They continue to cut through a lot of the esoteric garbage that is creeping in to modulars.
That esoteric garbage is what drives the guitar electronics industry. There is this dude who has invented the “fountain of incredible sound” and everyone is bying it. And inside the box he’s selling; nothing new, a tube screamer with one extra clipping diode.
That’s why I love synths.
Electronics is what it is and the users make the esoteric of it.
