Great and informative interview.
Is it possible, in some sort of way, that we can bestow a knighthood or something on Nick Batt?
This interview is a great example of him having the sort of conversation and questions most people would have of a product or a person. Really informative and he gives Roger Linn the time and respect he deserves, made me completely rethink the LinnStrument.
I’d second that nomination!
Totally – really great interview, with two smart and well-spoken guys.
One of the best I’ve seen from the Sonic State guys.
I think he was mentioning in a SonicTalk that he had actually been approached about this (in relation with his Goldfrapp work I believe), but it seems like you’d have to pay a considerable yearly fee to have the honor.
Thats pretty funny, me turning down a knighthood coz of the cost – not quite correct!
It was being a member of the FRSA (Royal Society) which is nothing like so grand!
Anyhow Glad you enjoyed the piece, he’s a great guy.
Great interview and the price is less than I expected. Excellent design. I love the idea that you can customize it and that the software will be open source – based on Arduino? Sign me up!
WHEN IS IT COMING OUT????
WHEN HE SAID OPEN SOURCE IT WAS GAME OVER BRUH!!!!!
HE SHOULD THROW A MOD WHEEL ON THERE THO
NEVER MIND I CAN TAPE SOME V-METERS TO THE SIDE OF IT LOL
Did he say anything about the drum sampler that we’ve all been waiting for?
I got to play around with this briefly at MoogFest, it looks to be an interesting controller and not impossible to learn. Great potential. And Roger was great, nice guy who loves what he does.
kobamoto he does not talk about the new Linn drum anymore it’s really a shame but what he doesn’t understand is that if he kept his word and actually put what could potentially be the greatest mpc ever out like he said he would he would make enough money to create whatever kind of new fangled star trek midi controllers he wants for the rest of his life.
Fantastic, I finally got round to watching this, what a great interview and this really does look like an awesome product!
Great to hear it had proper midi ports and USB, is class compliant and will work with anything!
The Open Source approach is fantastic, good choice!!
In the variations, in addition to the ones mentioned, it would be great to see one designed specifically for use with an iPad.
Going to be hard to resist 🙂
