Roland today announced the HS-5 Session Mixer, a digital mixer and recording interface that lets up to five musicians play and record together, with individual headphone mixes.
Players have individual hands-on control of their personal mix, plus access to reverb and COSM effects for guitar, bass, and vocals. Bands can capture stereo recordings directly to a USB thumb drive, or connect the HS-5 to a computer via a USB cable and record each channel to individual tracks in a DAW.
Additionally, each musician’s personalized settings can be saved for instant recall, providing quick setup for future rehearsals and recording sessions.
Features:
- Performer-friendly digital mixer with high-quality sound and USB
- Up to five musicians can rehearse or jam while monitoring with headphones
- Independent control of the monitor mix for each performer
- COSM amp modeling plus vocal effects and built-in reverb
- Record stereo mixes to a USB thumb drive
- Connect to a computer via USB for multitrack recording in a DAW

Beam me up Scottie.
Looks like a prop from the new Star Wars movies.
Just saying, not complaining.
Looks like a very useful device. Multitrack audio for your DAW is a huge bonus.
Well see, we had these leftover Handsonic parts……….
This could be really handy actually. Roland doesn’t do analog, but they do do great digital!
That video
They should have had the device zoom away like the Millenium Falcon in the last shot.
Wow! What a total JamHub ripoff. I’ll bet the folks at JamHub are not too happy right now with Roland. But this thing could be cool if the price is the same as a JamHub, but it looks like a nightmare to control. Give me easy to use knobs every day.
well a great advantage over jamhub is that it gives USB multi track recording out of the box…
I have just bought one will see how it goes
Hi Shane,
How is the performance of HS-5? I am planning to buy it.
