Reader Tubesockor started his son out young, teaching him how to use the Elektron Analog Four.
Now his son is covering Depeche Mode. Here’s what he has to say about the video:
My 7-year old son started to learn my Elekron Analog Four, and actually got pretty good at it. Since he loves “Photographic” by Depeche Mode (and had been playing it on the piano) he taught himself to program it into the A4.
One day I thought I should just capture what he’s doing on video to keep as a memory, and a the same time learn a two-cam setup. This is the result – all filmed in one go. There are English subtitles available in the video as well.
THE BUZZ !!!! on the next video you’ll see my dog play Chopin on a minimoog
Va duktig han är! Good job!
little genius with dirty fingernails. i had never thought a 7 year old could do this. great stuff!
This kid should be hired by elektron. I learned so much more from this than the artsy creepy videos they do. Children have little pretension. You can almost see their brains thinking as they go through something, giving you great insight into how one truly interacts with a device.
Best demo I’ve seen of this machine, Props to this young man. I now have this on my buy list.
Best tutorial I’ve seen on how to use this somewhat abstruse interface! Hooking up MIDI keyboard must make things a lot easier.
Hehe, this is a very lovely video :). If you don’t know that “you should not be ready for this yet” you just do it. And succeed ;).
Yep – this is cool 🙂
I feel old!
Hi folks! Glad that you liked the video!
Perhaps humanity has still some hope.
Great job! I like how he does not seem to be bothered by having to make things over again when he makes a mistake.
The plastic-y (wonderfully) toy-like buttons of the Analog Four meld perfectly with the small guys hands-on music making. This made me want to get an Analog Four …and have a kid.
Hats off. Octatrack tutorial please?
