Goodhertz has released Faraday Limiter for OS X – a ‘peak limiter with a big magnetic field’.
Named after the inventor of the electrical transformer, Faraday Limiter’s analog-modeled input/output transformers are responsible for its beefy, harmonically-rich sound. Faraday Limiter is designed to sound great on buses, individual instruments, vocals, dialog and more.
Features:
- Big, analog-modeled transformer sound
- “Color” and “Warmth” controls for extended timbral shaping
- Advanced stereo linking: variable L/R or M/S linking
- Adjustable ratio: [2:1, 4:1, 8:1, 20:1]
- Gain reduction history meter
Here’s what they have to say about Faraday Limiter:
Rather than build another “transparent” brickwall limiter, we thought we’d make something different: something dynamic, colorful, and inspiring; something you could use for more than just pure loudness.
Faraday Limiter is a free download for Mac OS X at the Goodhertz site.

Thank youuuu!! 🙂
Nice plug-ins in this website. Take a look…
I’d certainly comment if it showed up in my Live plug-ins folder — but it doesn’t (?). Not even after a restart.
I just installed this free plugin, and I was forced to create an account to use it. but more troubling is the fact that every time i go to use it, i have to log in, giving my user name and password. So this means that if I want to use in on multiple tracks, I am forced to go thru this log in process over and over. As a result of this unfriendly requirement, I have deleted it. Now I want to remove my account from their site and do not see a way to do this.
Yep… What gw said.. It forces you to log in every time you want to use the plug-in.. Not worth it to me.
A fix was just posted for certain DAW’s (mainly Studio One) requiring multiple logins. You should never need to login to the plugins more than once.
