Sample Logic has just announced the update and expansion of its Cinematic Guitars virtual instrument series: Cinematic Guitars Infinity.
Created for use with Native Instruments’ Kontakt Player, the new collection includes complete versions of Cinematic Guitars 1 and 2, while expanding the library with two completely new and original sample libraries, Cinematic Guitars 3 and Cinematic Guitars INFINITY.
Cinematic Guitars 3 is comprised of all new samples recorded by “guitar hero” Steve Ouimette. Cinematic Guitars Infinity is the amalgamation of the CG trilogy that came before, incorporating all of the samples from the CG libraries, with an updated and more capable interface, into a new cinematic virtual instrument.
Inspired by the principles of synthesis and sampling, Cinematic Guitars Infinity expands on the architecture of Sample Logic’s atmosphere instrument, XOsphere. Infinity provides tools to simultaneously morph up to 8 unique “sound sources” running through 4 “soundcores”.
At the heart of this is Sample Logic’s new invention, the “3D Mixer”, which allows for seamless morphing between the 4 soundcores intuitively. Incorporating Sample Logic’s most impressive innovations to date, the Step Animator and the Morph Animator, Infinity’s new user interface combines animation with psychoacoustic sampling and hybrid synthesis.
All of Cinematic Guitar Infinity’s sound sources are loaded into a soundcore, each of which is capable of playing back two sound sources simultaneously, and is packed with powerful FX including reverb, delay, convolution, filters, distortion, and more. The user can incorporate up to 4 of those soundcores simultaneously, allowing a massive total of 8 sound sources to be heard at once. In addition, Master FX can be applied to all soundcores. In addition, Infinity includes over 2000 sound sources, 1000 soundcore presets, and 750 ready-to-use instrument presets giving users countless sonic combinations to work with.
Kontakt’s “first ever XY slider and 3D mixer.” Cinematic Guitars Infinity also boasts an XY slider and 3D mixer capability. The user can simply drag the crosspoint along the X and Y axis to smoothly blend among 4 soundcores. Furthermore, the 3D mixer serves as more than a balancing tool: its axis can be linked to soundcore and master FX parameters.
The Step Animator. The Step Animator, introduced in Sample Logic’s Arpology, is back “and better than ever” in Cinematic Guitars Infinity. Users can create detailed 128-step melodic and rhythmic patterns, each step with 8 independent parameters.
