Soulsby Synthesizers has introduced the miniAtmegatron – an DIY 8-bit synthesizer shield kit for the Arduino Uno.
Here’s the official intro video:
The miniAtmegatron goes on sale on the 24th August, for $39 / €39 / £29. See the Soulsby site for details.
Sweet. That is all.
Clever little device for anyone who already owns an Arduino Uno.
Even if you don’t own a Arduino Uno. You can get one for 5$ from Banggood.com ot 10$ via ebay from your country. Which means kickass Synth for 50$ plus enclosure (if wanted)
This is great Soulsby! Well done for making something so cheap we can all buy.
I bought the Atmegatron, and I am super happy with it. The bonus of the purchase is that they keep adding new software that you can load on the synth. They made a drum machine, a delay enabled synth, a polyphonic one, a wavetable type thing… It’s a great sound and they keep adding value to the purchase, I’m really pleased with it and Soulsby as a company!!
oh for it to have a second mini jack, a 6n138 and a couple of resistors more…

10£ for shipping is steep! 1/3 the price of the kit. Makes it over 70$ Canadian….
