I really do not understand why there are so many of these interfaces with under 8 inputs. 4 is bad enough, now 2. And here’s a new advancement, the 6 declared outputs includes the stereo headphone jack, so there’s really only 4 outputs.
On the other hand there’s the Behringer XR12 X Air which is $250 and has 12 inputs, stereo out, 2 aux outs, headphones, integrated effects per channel including EQ compression, limiting, sidechaining, plus 4 integrated global stereo effects sends, and it works over USB, over ethernet, over wifi, and has wireless mixer control software that runs on the iPad or Android.
12 input channels and effects is better than 2 and without, in my opinion, given the comparable price.
Exactly! Who’s the target consumer for all those outputs and so few inputs? Maybe it’s not even meant for musicians? It does say “Ultra-Versatile 2-in 6-out Audio & MIDI Interface for Musicians & DJs” on their website, but perhaps they got it wrong.
Apples and oranges. This device is about exchanging MIDI signals and digital audio information between different operating systems, with strong focus on iOS devices. While I have the ability to input and output 64 channels of audio in my studio, iConnect devices are my go-to in countless situations, and work better than any other alternative I have tried. Love every product they have made. And built like tanks!
