At the 2016 NAMM Show, Expressive E introduced the Touché – a new MIDI + CV controller that lets you add expressive control to your existing setup.
Here’s a video demo from the NAMM Show floor by Arthur Bouflet, who gives an overview of the Touché’s capabilities and then demonstrates it:
The Touché has 4 expression controls, with mechanical force feedback & sensibility adjusting.
Connectivity options include:
- 4 CV/Gate Output (3.5mm) with -10V / +10V maximum range
- 1 MIDI input & 1 MIDI output (3.5mm jack with MIDI adapter)
- 1 Type B USB port
The Expressive E Touché is expected to be available ‘later this year’, priced under US $500. See the Expressive E site for more info.
actually way cheaper than expected.
definatly more interested than i originally was…
Wow, that thing actually looks like it works! All that finger drumming in the car is finally going to pay off!!
It’s cool. I like that it includes all the different connectivity, and it seems to be pretty rugged (that’s a guess).
It seems to take over the roles of pitch wheel, mod wheel, joy stick, and/or ribbons and just gives you a good multidimensional control surface.
It’s quite responsive and I think a person could build some strong intuitive connection to it.
I played with it at NAMM, it’s pretty incredibly responsive. and the mechanical force feedback is great. The wooden finish on the top is very nice, and the chassis has a kind of rubbery coating on the metal. Overall very cool, and I liked playing with it on the Pro 2 a lot.
At least it looks steampunk.
Roli is probably better since you can do more with two hands.
