This video, via Voltage Control Labs, takes a look at using alternative firmware with Mutable Instruments’ Eurorack modules.
The video covers firmware update procedures and the Parasites and Bees in the Trees alternative firmwares that have been created and shared by module owners.
If you’re a Mutable Instruments module owner, leave a comment and let us know if you’ve tried one of the alternate firmware options!
Just installed Sheeps on my Tides today and now I want another Tides!!
Honestly, the Parasite firmware turned quite a few already exceptional modules into absolute beasts when it comes to functionality. The fact that my Clouds now doubles as a proper reverb as well as a resonant string synth is awesome!
Honestly, I can’t wait to buy up a few more Mutables in the future.
I put Sheep on my Tides, but then went back when the Parasites firmware came out. For my usage, the Parasites firmware on Tides is way more to my liking. I plan on adding the Dead Man’s Catch fw to Peaks, as well as the bonus firmware update for Elements. I just haven’t gotten around to that yet. The modules are so well-featured from the start – I’m still learning how to use them in my system!
