Digital DJ app-maker Mixvibes today introduced Remixlive, a “remix toolbox” for iOS tablets and mobile devices.
Remixlive was specifically designed as a bridge between DJing and music production: the app allows users to lay down samples on an easy-to-use grid of pads, and tweak the samples in seconds.
Remixlive Key Features:
Pro-sounding samples
- Grid: 24 pads on the iPhone, 48 on the iPad.
- 48 samples per pack: from beats and basslines to melodies, vocals, and FX samples.
- 15 sample packs ranging from Hip-Hop to Dubstep — with more coming soon.
- Artist pack by legendary DJ/producer Carl Cox, and more to be added.
- Includes sample packs by world-famous sound design studio Loopmasters.
- Create your own packs by mixing and matching samples from existing packs.
- Instant FX pad: Delay, Filter, Flanger, Reverb, and many more.
- Loop your track using the different beat-repeat pads, from 2 bars down to a single beat.
- Live BPM control: change the tempo on the fly without stopping the music.
- Multiple Mode: play several pads per column simultaneously.
- Control levels and filters for each column.
- Trigger an entire line of samples at once with a simple swipe across the screen.
- Record your performance in high quality AAC audio.
- Share your recordings via email, or open them using your device’s other music apps.
Edit samples
- Edit Play mode (loop, one-shot, gate), Quantize, Gain, ADSR, Pan, Loop Division, Reverse.
- Import your own samples directly from your iTunes library.
- Record any sound or voice through the mic — with an optional overdub.
- Load, move and duplicate any sample, anywhere on the grid.
- Transpose: raise or lower the tone of your samples.
- High quality audio limiter.
- Ultra-accurate BPM detection.
And, finally, the Remixlive app is universal: purchase it once and you can use it on both the iPad and iPhone.
Here’s a walkthrough of Remixlive features:
Pricing and Availability. Remixlive for iOS is available via the iTunes App Store. It comes as a free app with optional In-App Purchases. More information is available at the Mixvibes website.
from the guys who brought you cross dj, a real nice dj app that can use soundcloud (just beware if you use that you storage goes bye bye)
If they can add the ability to sync via external midi clock or add Ableton’s Link function, then it will be good to go.
Looks like a great app for version 1.0
needs Zoom in it’s advanced audio editing for start and end points for getting clean loops.
needs to be compatible with midi controllers and have midi learn for pad triggering and fx
needs to be compatible with audio share in/out…to/from…. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
needs to allow destructive audio editing so that it doesn’t take up valuable storage resources on your idevice.
needs better fx for glitching and offsetting timing
needs link
needs audiobus
needs to be able to delete samples in the library that users don’t want taking up space
I’m gonna download it now.
Really no Ableton Link? xD
So it’s basically this:

with additional effects?
Is it just blue skin for Novation Launchpad app, or something new?
If you don’t have AB Link + Midi Sync for a “performance” app, then your seriously missing a large market of folks.
Also, why, like the Launchpad app, do developers refuse to put in a “scene” launch button??? This “swipe” to launch business is silly. Yeah, it may be handy at times, but if you are really in the moment, you don’t want to rely on a perfectly executed swipe to make sure it starts the scene right.
Overall, it looks just like Launchpad IOS with some extra cool features but some seriously important omissions.
no work in bluetooth speaker ?
