Earlier in the year, we reported that The Lawrence Public Library Is Getting A Monster Modular Synthesizer.
Now the custom modular synth, created by Lawrence-based Free State FX, is freely available at the Lawrence Public Library, as part of their Sound + Vision studio. This video, via Jade Guitarmaker, offers a preview of the instrument and what it’s capable of.
“I made a song patch on the new synthesizer at Lawrence Public Library. It consists mainly of Yusynth modules put together by a local builder,” notes Jade. “It is awesome. I love my library!”
The Library’s Sound + Vision studio – a studio that’s open to the public and free to use. It offers multiple work areas, tricked out with mics, drums, keyboards, computer workstations and more.
The Lawrence Public Library Foundation – an independent non-profit organization that helps support the Library – raised funds to furnish the Library’s studio with the new synth.
If my local library had this, I’d go more ofter.
eh a nice modular synth and that pretty soul,
how could you possibly go wrong?

Jade is rockin that thing
Something like this was long overdue and renewed my faith in the public library system.
Wow. this is smashing! well done!
I would spend most of my free time at this library.
