Ableton recently announced the lineup for its Loop musical summit, scheduled for November 4-6, 2016 at the Funkhaus in Berlin.
The three-day gathering focuses on the exchange of ideas “at the cutting edge of music, technology and creative practice” through discussions, performances, presentations, studio sessions and interactive workshops. Organizers explain,”Loop is a collective exploration of what it is to make music today and what it could be tomorrow.”
Program. By day, participants attend talks and workshops, and presenters include Suzanne Ciani, Morton Subotnick, Daedalus, Quantrick and Kimbra, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DiViNCi, and Chagall.
Performances. In the evening, the summit features performances from a range of electronic musicians, including Lee Scratch Perry with Subatomic Sound System, Morton Subotnick and Lillevan, Matthewdavid and Diva, and the Kopenhagen Laptop Orchestra.
Regular-price tickets are €300. (Tickets for full-time students are €150, and a limited number of subsidized tickets at the reduced cost of €50 are also available.) An official from Ableton reminds us yesterday that “the registrations close this week for Loop (July 20th) and since there is a limited capacity, tickets will then be allocated via a lottery.”
For complete program information, and to register for Loop, check out the Loop 2016 website.
