Organizers of the Machines In Music festival, coming to NY Oct 8-9, have announced the schedule.
The daytime exhibition is free and open to the public, with 48 exhibitors displaying modular technology from North America and Europe, as well as discussions ranging from historical works to technical design.
Saturday Night’s concert presents live performances from Suzanne Ciani, Alessandro Cortini, Mark Verbos, and Tearing Light From Sound.
Visual art from Benton C Bainbridge, Ben F. Laposky, and Sabrina Ratté will be exhibited during the daytime exhibition.

1:30 – The Synthesizer: A Brief History in Sound presented by Thom Holmes
3:00 – Livelier Live-Electronics: DavidTudor’s Pioneer Approach to Home-brew Instruments, presented by Michael Johnsen and Ronald Kuivila
4:30 – Electric Orchestra: Multitimbrality & how to build an entire track on a system in one take, presented by Colin Benders (Kyteman)
