808 The Movie had its world premiere Friday, March 13th, 2015 at SXSW. The film looks at the iconic records, artists and producers influenced by the 808’s unique sound.
Bummer, as I was looking forward to owning this on Blu Ray. I refuse to buy films as digital downloads.
To capture the total analog experience, i am buying the 70mm film on two reels.
Hahaha…David Guetta 😉 laughing out loud!!!
What a shame about the 808 :/
I was just wondering last night what color his hair is this month….
Seiously, that’s the same thing i thought. Why David Guetta? maybe as an additivie / filling bec he couldn’t find Phil Collins?
Probably to use Guetta’s fanbase to feed the 808 hype/myth.
You lost me at ‘Apple Music exclusive’.
Wait, you need an Apple Music subscription to be allowed to buy the movie???
You need an Apple Music streaming subscription to watch the movie. I’m guessing it isn’t for sale.
I refuse to subscribe to streaming services. The only people that make money out of this are the streaming companies. The musicians are totally fleeced by big business.
No Egyptian Lover one of the 808 Gods. This Movie is a joke.
Phil Collins?
Phil Collins
A lot of his early 80’s stuff was heavy 808. “In The Air Tonight” is all 808 up until the tom break.
Incorrect. “In The Air Tonight” is a Roland CR-78.
Yes, same Phil Collins that was on the first 4 Brian Eno records
Will they interview the designers and engineers who built the machine? They are the real stars!
Stop with the damned 808 movies! We get it – the 808 was huge in the eights and became a dance music essential. For fucks sake, tell a new story.
What a brilliant movie, purchased immediately, thank you Apple 🙂
