This video, via Rishabh Rajan, takes a look at recreating the iconic baseline from Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Rajan uses the new Moog Minimoog Model D, but the patch should work equally well with an original Minimoog.

Sweet!
Haha…changing the trigger mode. It was originally done on an old mini. Good sound there, but it can easily be played without changing the trigger mode. Just make sure to lift those fingers.
Well done…
There’s another C# played an octave lower just one 16th note before the 4.
It’s kind of inconspicuous.
there sure is Funk Swine. And most ppl miss it. But its vitally important. Its the same with Billie Jean…theres two basslines going. And most ppl just play one and its always missing something when they do. You have to listen to the 12″ versions where they come in separately to hear it. nice one!
Some Russian singer have used this sound 🙂
