Electro-Harmonix has introduced the Synth9 Synthesizer Machine – a polyphonic synthesizer effect pedal.
The Synth9 transforms guitar or bass, with 9 presets that were designed to emulate popular vintage synth sounds: OBX, PROFIT V, VIBE SYNTH, MINI MOOD, EHX MINI, SOLO SYNTH, MOOD BASS, STRING SYNTH and POLY VI.
It features four controls: DRY volume, SYNTH volume, CTRL1 and CTRL2 knobs.
Pricing and Availability
The Synth9 will be available in late March for $221.30, and comes with a 9V power supply.
Gnarly!
damn, i really might need to spring for this one
If you can stave off your compulsion for “ladies of the night”.
Wow. This is nice. Wish it had an expression jack that could be assigned to Control 1 or 2, but otherwise this is well done! This guitar player will definitely be grabbing one.
I wonder would it work with melodica?
Why wouldn’t it? As long as you don’t play beyond the specified guitar range (23rd fret = Eb4)?
This is great if you play keys – maybe those awful retro 80’s bands will leave us alone now. That cliche “Jump” sound coming from the Synth9 is lame to the extreme though…
