This video, via Digital Convolution, demonstrates controlling a modified Korg Monotron with a Korg SQ-1 sequencer via CV/Gate.
The Monotron has a CV/Gate mod. CV & Gate inputs are identified on the PCB, so these points are brought to the back of the case, as documented in this diagram (pdf).
To connect the SQ-1 to the interface you need to use the “littleBits OUT” and select the option CV A Range to 5V and CV A Behavior to Chroma. The Monotron accepts a CV range approximately between 1.5 and 5 volts.
like that wasn’t going to happen
wonder what is next?
raspberry pi interface?
Prophetic lol
wish they still sold the original monotron,
or a successor with longer ribbon, and no parameter quantization
they should for just the sure fun of it
It’s very easy to replace the existing ribbon with a much longer one. RS electronics sell these ribbon pots for about £15.
Really enlightening! Curious how many possibilities can offer these cheap gears. Congratulation DC for your good idea.
Hello. the Gate makes a loud, annoying click sound, when released. if anybody has a mod or this please tell. thanks!
