Erica Synths has introduced a new set of DIY Eurorack modules, inspired by the Polivoks synthesizer.
The set is not a straight Polivoks clone, but includes additional options to expand the functionality of the system.
Video Demo:
Polivoks Modules:
- DIY MIDI-CV emulates classical monophonic and duophonic synth behaviour.
- DIY Modulator essentially is LFO with simultaneous triangle and square wave outputs, clockable S&H with external CV input and noise source.
- DIY Polivoks-inspired VCO with simultaneous triangle, ramp and pulse wave outputs, sync and PWM CV inputs. In VCO’s exponential converter we use the original matched transistor IC that was used in Polivoks.
- DIY Mixer is simple, straight-forward audio mixer an essential part of any modular setup.
- DIY Polivoks VCF is famous for its’ crazy resonance sweeps and deep, bassy sound, which makes it ideal for acid basslines. A kit comes with two K140UD12 opamps that were used in the original Polivoks.
- DIY Polivoks-inspired looping ADSR Envelope generator with gate delay, direct and inverted envelope outputs.
- DIY Polivoks-inspired VCA – two differential opamp-based VCAs in series each for LFO and ADSR control over signal amplitude independently; it can be used as dual VCA, as well. Kit comes with two K118UD1 differential opamp ICs.
- DIY Output module allows you to interface modular system with external gear via 3,5mm stereo jack and monitor compositions on headphones.

These have been around for ages! This is what Erica started out on. Your reporting of ‘news’ is a bit ropey I’m afraid.
You’re confused (and acting like an a-hole), these are all mew modules:

You are probably thinking of the earlier versions of a couple of these modules.
Sorry, you’re right they do seem to be updated versions. Synthtopia have been posting things that happened a while ago recently, but I jumped the gun with this one. They did have diy versions of the vca, filter 2 vcos and mixer, so not just a couple.
They sound more modern and behaved than an actual polivoks but they do come close to the character of the original. And who can complain for that price…
Is this a whole monosynth for less than a monologue?
not really, the full kit is “550EUR (+ 21% VAT for individual customers in EU without EU VAT registration number + shipping)” 21% is €115.50. Total price without shipping is : €665.
A monologue is a about €359 inc VAT.
What a great time to be alive!
It’s the year the Russians return to the spotlight!!!
Shots of Vodka all around.
If I didn’t have to build it I’d own it right now. Polyvox is the grittiest dirtiest most luscious synth I’ve ever heard and the video above does it justice.
OMFG, that’s a sexy synth.
Really pleased about this,as I have built 2 Erica Synths synth voice [Skiff friendly ]plus 2 of the old style Polivoks DIY modules [side mount PCB to panel ,not really skiff friendly].The new designs look really good and easier to get a good build for the DIYer.I quite like the red cable ,and large black knob Aesthetic, Nice work Erica
What did you get the oscillator to work? And the envelopes too.
These are the worst builds I’ve ever tried, terrible documentation all over the electroforum
The filter worked for me and is really wild love it, but the rest are Duff
Maybe it was me?
