Psychic Modulation has introduced EchoMelt – an ‘Audio Melting’ Multi-FX unit that they say is designed for adding character, texture and warmth to your sounds.
EchoMelt can create warbling “VHS” effects, swirling choruses, dubbed-out space delays, lo-fi saturated distortion and everything in-between.
Each effect section in EchoMelt can be used independently, and each section has it’s own dry/wet mix in addition to the main Master Mix. Each section can even save its own presets, for quickly loading up specific settings at any time.
Features:
- Melt: Analog-style drifting, instability and random fluctuations
- Snag: Sporadic pitch jumps and dropouts
- 2-Voice Chorus with Melt integration
- Echo: Pitch shifting dub delay unit
- Fully Parametric 5-Band EQ
- Saturation driver can be applied to overall signal
- EQ and Melt are both routable
- Mix controls for each effect as well as Master Mix
- Sub Presets for each FX section
- MIDI Learn and automation of most parameters
- Double Click Parameter Reset
- Intuitive patch managment system
- 128 presets

Pricing and Availability
EchoMelt is available now for US $39 (intro price through June 1, 2017) for Mac & Windows. A demo version is also available.
I don’t get it. Does it do anything other than adding a warble? Lame.
so this is basically like the melt knob in phonec but with options – kinda cool
$39 bucks? No thanks. Why would I pay for that when these are available?

Wow and Flutter especially is an essential tool, IMO.
Those dub scrolls VSTs are Windows 32-bit only.
Bought EchoMelt and it’s been pure magic on everything I’ve run through it. The combination of parameters + how they interact with each other is potent and fantastically original ranging from subtle to overt.
If you own Phonec there’s an additional discount but either way this one is a must-have and for what it does I’m thinking very fairly priced. No reason to debate this one by on-paper stats though: try the demo.
Hello Pete,
Sounds amazing. How can we all get an employee discount like you?
B
It’s not an employee discount good man it’s a discount if you already own the excellent Phonec synth which you can also get as a discounted bundle with EchoMelt btw.
Peep the psychicmodulation . com site.
Can this be a tool for any ‘Boards of Canada’ fans wanting to improvise their own creative experiments?
